History
The traditional Open North Patagonic Championship is played at the Club de Golf Palihue, Bahía Blanca.
1969
The first tournament takes place this year when Palihue Golf course hosts the best national players.The outcome of this huge management endeavour is a great championship which is written down in history as the victory of the biggest golfer, Roberto De Vicenzo, one of the best five Argentine sportsmen of the twentieth century according to the Argentine Association of Sports Journalists.

The top-ranking players Vicente Fernández, Florentino Molina and Fidel De Luca are also champions of this tournament .There is a long parenthesis of twelve seasons, after which the second stage of the North Patagonic starts again due to the effort and tenacity of its management which began in 1987 and continues at present. Since then, this tournament has gained standing position and has become international, incorporating both Argentine, Paraguayan, Chilean and Uruguayan players. (Carlos Franco, nominated as the Novice of 1999 in the PGA American Tour, was our winner in 1990).
Since 1991, the Asociación Argentina de Golf has given the North Patagonic Tournament the category of Regional Open and, from then on, the best amateur players in the country join the pros to improve their ranking which allows them to take part in the national team representing Argentina worldwide.
